Service and Mission

These are just some of the ways that Mesa View UMC is in service to the community and the world:

Mobile Food Pantry: We partner with the PTA at Marie Hughes Elementary School and Harvest Fellowship Church to distribute food to more than 100 families on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  For more information on how to partner or participate, or how to receive food, please contact the church office.

Food Pantry: Every week we donate nearly 100 pounds of food.  This food helps support our mobile food pantry and to asssist our locals schools who know of families in need.

Crop Walk: Every year in the fall we participate in Crop Walk to help raise money for local and international hunger relief programs.  Last year, our donations represented 5% of the total for the city of Albuquerque.

Clean Water Project: Water borne illness is the leading cause of death around the world.  Our Men’s group has raised more than $15000 over the past two years to help provide clean running water for schools in Kenya so that students and their families no longer have to travel long distances to transport water.

The United Methodist Community on Relief:  We support the efforts of UMCOR in many ways, from supporting ongoing relief efforts around the world, to providing funds to help respond to natural and manmade disasters throughout the country and the world.

Cub Scouts: We are the sponsor of a Cub Scout Pack that works to change the lives of boys, and their families, instilling them with the values of trust, leadership, hard work and faithfulness.

Facilities Use: We host numerous community groups in our facilities throughout the year, including the neighborhood association, little league, home schooling meetings, ecumenical groups, and 15 different AA meetings.

Mesa View Christian Preschool: We have programs for 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds, with over 88 students in the 2017-2018 school year.

Milk Rescue: Every day during the school year, cartons of milk that would otherwise be thrown away, are 'rescued' from local elementary schools and donated to homeless shelters.

Family Promise: We partner with other community churches to host homeless families providing transportation, meals and shelter.

Memory Cafe:  On the 3rd Saturday of every month we host people suffering from Alzheimers and other memory issues and their care givers for a time of support and fellowship.
