Rev. Josh Kouri
Pastor Josh Kouri has served Mesa View since June 2019. He grew up in Albuquerque and has previously served churches in Las Cruces as well as Amarillo, El Paso, and Garland, Texas.
Josh’s faith story began in high school when his family forced him to begin attending church and youth group. The people in that church completely changed his life by showing him that Jesus’ love is real and that Christian community is medicine for the soul. His mission in ministry is to help others love God and neighbor.
When he is not busy at church, Josh likes to ski, fish, watch baseball, or geek out on any sci-fi book or movie.
Josh graduated from seminary at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University in 2012. He also is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a degree in government.
Donna has been working at Mesa View since late December, 2013. She has worked as a supervisor since 1998, completing her MBA in 1996. She completed her Basic Graduate Theological Studies at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas in 2011 and went on to be certified by the United Methodist Church in Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction in 2013. She is currently a student of Coaching4Clergy working to be certified as an Associate Certified Coach by December of 2016. She is married to Gil Berry, has four grown children and 11 grandchildren. Favorite scripture passage?
Hebrews 4:14- “Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (NRSV)
Lee Anna Bonnel
Nursery Coordinator and Youth Leader
I have been a member of Mesa View UMC for about 10 years now. My mother served in the US Air Force for 25 years which meant our family moved a lot! This is by far the longest I have ever lived anywhere and have come to view this town and church as my home.
When I first started attending Mesa View, I was in the youth group, where I served as the Youth Representative with the Leadership Council. In college, I started working in our Nursery on Sunday mornings and eventually became the Nursery Coordinator. I currently run the programs with the Nursery and other events such as Parents Night Out as well as being director of our youth program
Outside of Mesa View, I enjoy gardening and taking care of my many pets (Including 16 hens). I graduated from UNM last May with my B.S. in Early Childhood Multicultural Education and now work as a Kindergarten teacher at Sunset View Elementary School and I love every minute of it!
